Howdy YAL!

I used to be the blogger called YAL Book Briefs, but I grew bored of the handle and changed my name to Howdy YAL. I also respond to MJ. I like to read, write, eat truffles, and watch bad Lifetime movies.

Ripple - Mandy Hubbard I really, really liked this book. It wasn't what I was expecting, but I was glad that it had the depth it did. I thought for the most part the story was beautifully written. Hubbard was able to make me feel for Lexi and her struggles. I rooted for her and Cole. However, there were some things that did bother me about the book. These things included how Hubbard handled Lexi's relationship with her former friend, Sienna, and her relationship with new guy Erick. I just thought that both of these relationships were a bit rushed.Best Feature: Slow burn romance: I really loved the relationship between Lexi and Cole. I thought it was beautifully paced and realistic enough. The chemistry between the two characters was very palatable and I think it on the whole made the book.Worst Feature: Minor Character Relationships. As previously stated, the relationship between Lexi and her ex-friend Sienna and her love interest Erik faltered quite a bit. Both of these relationships felt rushed. And I did not care for the resolution between Lexi and Sienna's relationship at all.To see full review click here: http://yalbookbriefs.blogspot.com/2011/09/ripple-mandy-hubbard.html
