Howdy YAL!

I used to be the blogger called YAL Book Briefs, but I grew bored of the handle and changed my name to Howdy YAL. I also respond to MJ. I like to read, write, eat truffles, and watch bad Lifetime movies.

Hex Hall - Rachel Hawkins Awesome. I really liked this book. I had it in my to be read pile for awhile and I wonder now why I didn't pick it up sooner. Oh, yeah, law school that's why. But besides that, I should've read it sooner. The book itself is a real treat. Sophie is a very relatable character and I like the fact that she's a bit of a magical klutz. And it's a nice balance between fluff and the dramatics. I really am kicking myself for not reading it sooner. The one problem I did have with it, if anything was it wasn't that memorable. While the book was fantastic, there was just something about it that makes it forgettable. I don't know what it is exactly, it's hard to pinpoint. Maybe it's because the plot is a little predictable. Though there was an interesting twist and the end of the book that will have me picking up its sequel, but it's not like I HAVE to pick up the next one.To see full review click here:http://yalbookbriefs.blogspot.com/2012/01/hex-hallrachel-hawkins.html
