I used to be the blogger called YAL Book Briefs, but I grew bored of the handle and changed my name to Howdy YAL. I also respond to MJ. I like to read, write, eat truffles, and watch bad Lifetime movies.
Annoyed
Funny, I guess I'm not qualified to be a musician, my mother isn't, my sister isn't, and a good portion of my friends aren't either because we're women.
Oh, wait it's conductors only....so how did my sister possibly get her degree because even though she's a professional musician she had to take conducting class at both the bachelor and masters level.
I guess that makes the band director at the school my mom teaches not qualified to do a job she's been doing for almost thirty years. Same for my aunt.....why did my aunt win all those awards when she obviously can't conduct because she's a woman....
Sorry for the rant guys, but if you've read my blog you know that I have a close connection to the classical music world. This sort of shit disgusts me.
